    South Korea E-commerce Giant Visit Midea

    December 3, a senior delegation from Coupang, a leading e-commerce platform in South Korea, visited Midea Group’s headquarters in Shunde, marking a significant deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two companies. With continuous senior exchanges and deepening collaboration, Midea and Coupang have now established a comprehensive strategic partnership covering all product categories and multiple business units, achieving consecutive doubling of business scale. Both sides spoke highly of the cooperation the cooperation outcomes over the past year and the complementary strengths of their products and services in the Korean market.

     

     

    Since its establishment in 2010, Coupang has rapidly grown into South Korea’s largest online retail platform with the most extensive product range and comprehensive services. With excellent logistics, delivery, and after-sales support, Coupang boasts over 21 million monthly active users and holds a commanding 38% market share, solidifying its position as the top e-commerce platform in South Korea.

     

    The Coupang senior delegation visiting Midea headquarters included Helen Yoon, Group Vice President and CEO of Retail Business; Jade Jung, Head of Consumer Electronics; and Steve Jung, Team Leader of After-Sales Delivery and Installation. The team gained in-depth insights into Midea Group’s development history, product portfolio, and future strategy.

     

     

    During the visit, the Coupang delegation held a brief meeting with Mr. Eric Wang, Executive President of Midea Group, where both sides engaged in a cordial exchange. Mr. Lewis Fu, President of Midea International Business. Mr. Roger Deng, General Manager of Midea International E-Commerce, and other leaders from the Asia-Pacific Korea branch conducted in-depth discussions with the Coupang team. Both sides reviewed the cooperation progress in 2025 and engaged in comprehensive communication regarding market insights, product planning, and marketing strategies for 2026. The Coupang team expressed expectations for Midea to further expand its product offerings in the Korean market, providing local consumers with more smart and eco-friendly home appliance choices.

     

    After the visit, the Coupang delegation reaffirmed that South Korea, as the world's third-largest e-commerce market, has surpassed an annual e-commerce scale of $250 billion and is projected to maintain a compound annual growth rate of around 8% in the coming years. Coupang expressed strong confidence in the business collaboration with Midea and firmly believed that this in-depth exchange will further solidify their strategic partnership, jointly opening a new chapter in South Korea’s e-commerce market.
